Bird Calendar

Two hand-drawn January bird calendar pages overlap on a white work surface. The front page shows a black line drawing of a small bird perched on berry-covered branches above the handwritten word “january” and a hand-drawn monthly calendar. Behind it, a painted version shows a yellow-and-black bird on brown branches with red berries against a blue watercolor sky. A blue-handled brush and red stitched ribbon lie nearby.

Side-by-side process view of a January watercolor bird calendar project showing both the line-art template and a completed painted example. The foreground sheet features a delicate black ink drawing of a small songbird perched on branching twigs dotted with round berries. Beneath the illustration is the hand-lettered lowercase word “january,” followed by single-letter weekday initials and a fully hand-drawn calendar grid of dates. The second sheet underneath shows the same composition painted in watercolor, with a yellow belly, dark head and wings, warm brown branches, red berries, and a loose pale-blue sky wash. A blue-handled round paintbrush rests near the top and a loop of red ribbon with white stitched edging sits at the upper right.
