How American Girl Books Helped My Kids Love Reading and History

Close-up portrait of a smiling child seated on a textured beige upholstered couch while holding a large doll closely against the chest. The child has long, loosely curled light-brown hair, blue eyes, and wears a blue floral-patterned top or dress with turquoise, white, and darker blue details. The child wraps both arms around the doll and presses one cheek against the doll’s head while looking toward the camera. The doll has long straight dark-brown hair with blunt bangs, a red ribbon tied in the hair, brown eyes, and a pale pink dress. The dress has white lace trim around the neckline, sleeves, and hem, puffed short sleeves, and a dark red ribbon or sash around the waist. The doll’s light-colored legs extend downward out of the lower portion of the image. Part of a patterned reddish-brown cushion and another person’s hand are visible along the far left edge.
