It’s the limits that make us create – Good News for Creative Moms

Overhead angled photograph of two children seated at a large black table covered with painting and drawing supplies. The child at the upper center has long light-brown hair, wears a pale long-sleeve top, rests one hand against the side of the face, and uses a thin brush or drawing tool on a white sheet of paper. The child on the lower right has long brown hair held back with a bright pink headband, wears a dark top, leans closely over a white sheet of paper, and uses a thin brush to add dark brown lines to a large outlined figure. The tabletop contains a large white plastic palette in the lower-left corner covered with mixed blue, pink, peach, brown, red, yellow, green, and other paint colors; several paintbrushes and pencils; stained paper towels; loose sheets of white paper; a clear drinking cup containing a tan-colored liquid; a clear plastic bag holding brushes or art tools; and a black box labeled “ACRYLIC” containing multiple paint colors. Near the lower center is a small square artwork showing a painted person with short brown hair, closed eyes, rosy cheeks, and a red patterned shirt, with a paintbrush resting diagonally across it. A partially completed painted face appears on another white sheet near the lower-left center. White cabinets, a black countertop, a red plant pot, a basket, and small household objects appear in the background.

Children working independently on painting and drawing projects at a home table filled with palettes, acrylic paint, brushes, pencils, paper, and works in progress. This home art setup illustrates how homeschool online art lessons for kids can become an engaging hands-on part of the day. Lily & Thistle provides online art classes for kids, watercolor and painting lessons, homeschool art projects, creative drawing instruction, elementary art curriculum resources, and flexible art activities children can complete from home.
