Stevenson Girls by Canal

Square outdoor photograph of several children gathered along the edge of a narrow rural creek in warm late-afternoon or evening sunlight. The water runs diagonally from the lower-right foreground toward the center-left background, with small ripples reflecting blue sky and warm golden light. The near left bank is mostly bare dark soil with scattered grass and low plants, while the far right bank is lined with tall dry golden grasses, reeds, and patches of green vegetation illuminated by the setting sun. Three children are visible near the bend in the creek. One stands at the far left in a patterned dress or long shirt, another stands closer to the water wearing darker clothing, and a third child in a dark red or purple top crouches or sits at the water's edge with one arm extended. A mature tree rises near the center background, and wire fencing stretches across the surrounding green pasture. Beyond the fence are farm structures, utility poles, and open rural land. Long shadows and glowing yellow grasses give the image a peaceful evening nature-study atmosphere.
