Day 11 The First Joke

Black-and-white graphite drawing of a crow or raven standing in profile and facing left on a white sketchbook page. Handwritten text near the upper right reads “DAY 11 THE FIRST JOKE.” The bird has a large pointed black beak, a dark eye beneath a shaded brow area, and heavily rendered feathers across the head, throat, body, folded wing, and tail. The neck and breast are shaded with broad graphite strokes, while the wing contains layered feather shapes outlined and darkened individually. One visible leg extends downward to a clawed foot with long toes and curved nails; a second leg is partly obscured. The bird’s tail extends toward the lower-right edge and is partly cropped by the frame. A faint vertical crease or page edge appears near the right margin.

Crow or raven sketch for homeschool bird study, nature journaling, pencil drawing, daily sketchbook challenges, observational art, animal illustration, homeschool science and art, kids’ drawing practice, graphite shading, and family art routines.
