Common Frog Nature Journal Pages

Close-up outdoor photograph of an open nature journal page titled “COMMON FROG” in large reddish-orange block letters outlined and shaded with dark ink. The date “Oct. 4, 2018” and the note “Raining” appear at the upper-right corner. A pale blue watercolor wash covers much of the page. Near the upper center is a detailed frog viewed from above, painted in yellow-green, olive, tan, and brown with irregular dark spots and stripes. Black arrows and handwritten labels point to anatomical features such as smooth skin, dark eye markings, webbed feet, and other body details. To the lower right is a second frog shown in side profile with long hind legs extended backward, revealing a cream belly and mottled brown-and-green body. Handwritten notes compare frogs and toads, discuss hopping, skin moisture, frog spawn, food, and preferred prey such as insects, snails, slugs, and worms. A hand with pink-painted fingernails holds the lower edge of the journal, and dark mulch or forest-floor material fills the background.

Common frog nature study for homeschool amphibian science, frog anatomy, frog versus toad lessons, watercolor nature journaling, pond study, life cycle science, Charlotte Mason nature study, animal adaptations, field observation, and homeschool biology.
