Rhode Island Red Hen Nature Journal Page

Outdoor photograph of a nature journal page titled “Rhode Island RED HEN,” with “Rhode Island” written diagonally in decorative reddish lettering and “RED HEN” in large shaded reddish block letters across the top. The date “Oct. 8, 2018” and the note “Raining hard” appear in small handwriting near the upper-right corner. A pale blue watercolor wash fills the page background. The central illustration is a large Rhode Island Red hen painted in rich brown, rust, chestnut, and reddish tones with layers of black ink lines defining individual feathers across the tail, wing, neck, and body. The hen has a reddish comb, a small yellow beak, dark eye, and two yellow legs standing in loosely painted green grass. Handwritten narrative text surrounds the chicken and tells a story about a neighboring farmer, chickens, fresh eggs, and the breed. A bulleted section on the left includes facts such as their reputation as good egg layers and their personality. Additional chicken facts continue along the lower margin. Part of another journal page with a red leaf is visible at the far right.

Rhode Island Red chicken study for homeschool farm animal science, backyard chicken studies, poultry anatomy, Charlotte Mason nature journaling, watercolor animal illustration, farm homeschool units, egg-laying breeds, animal husbandry education, and nature notebooking.
