Ancestor Gallery Wall – How We Did It For Less
The Long, Dark Hallway When designing our home, we knew we didn’t want the very popular open-concept floorplan. We wanted the kitchen to be its own space with a separate living room, dining room, etc., just like an old farmhouse would have. So, in order to do all of these separate rooms, it was clear…

The Dollhouse and a Tour of The Girl’s Room aka Playroom
I have been waiting to post about the girls’ doll house but have been waiting until I’m “finished” with it. Well, I have decided that it is finished (for now at least!) because it has made it to the bottom of the list of to-do’s. Maybe I’ll really finish it when the girls are in…

Creative Cleaning & Organizing Tips for the Easily Distracted
Here at Lily and Thistle, we talk about art/creativity and motherhood – two subjects that go really well together except maybe, when it comes to keeping things in order. If you’ve been at this mothering gig for longer than say a day, you know how quickly things can get out of control. Add a…

Madison Living Magazine
Can you spot the paper doll there on the cover? 🙂 It’s been almost four months ago that Betsy Pruitt from Belly Feathers Parties in Alabama contacted me and asked if she could highlight the dolls in photo shoot she was doing for Madison Living Magazine. Two haircuts in two days. First up, this little guy. His “tail” was finally to the point of distraction. Man alive why was I so sad to cut his curls? Maybe because he went from “baby” to “boy” in just a few minutes…sniff, sniff. He did great. He is growing up TOO FAST. I…
So true. And THAT is why I refuse to wish away this sleep deprivation stage. Cause once he’s sleeping more he probably won’t be so small!
I may just have to copy this… only with my own baby’s hand. We’ll see if I am coordinated enough to do it!
I plan to do molds of Max & McKay’s hands in the next few days… wish me luck & thanks for the idea!
I know this is a really old post, but I’m going to comment anyway. I love The Happiness Project, but it’s been a few years since I’ve read it. I haven’t seen this video until now, but I needed this reminder today. Thank you for reminding us to not just live our lives, but to truly LIVE and LOVE our lives. Because one day they will be gone and then what… sending lots of love.
🙂 Thanks for the comment Jen. Man alive, it IS so easy to forget. We are living the dream!
