how the mini canvas brought the joy of art back to my life

Close-up photograph of a person's open left hand holding a small square painted canvas in front of a warm brown wood-plank floor. The hand fills much of the background behind the artwork, with fingers extending upward and around both sides, and a dark brown watchband visible around the wrist at the lower left. The mini canvas depicts a front-facing figure with a short rounded blonde bob, pale peach skin, blue eyes, rosy cheeks, a small red smile, and a red hair clip near the right side of the forehead. The figure wears a vivid green garment covered with tiny dark-red dots and a pale blue-and-white bib or collar outlined in blue and edged with a scalloped white ruffle. The portrait is surrounded by a dark navy and black painted background filled with energetic irregular dabs and streaks of red, yellow, lime green, turquoise, white, and blue. Visible brush and drawing textures give the miniature artwork a handmade, layered appearance.
